I syv år drev Emil Solbakken virksomheten alene før han i 1983 også fikk sønnen Kjetil Solbakken med på laget. Kjetil overtok som daglig leder etter at Emil selv pensjonerte seg. Med mange store leveranser trengte firmaet etter hvert også en egen mann på montasjesiden. Stig Stubbrud begynte i 2006 og er i dag firmaets montasjeleder. Han er utrolig dyktig. Han ser de viktige detaljene som trengs for å komme i havn med de ulike prosjektene. Firmaet er heldig som har han med på laget. Kristoffer Solbakken begynte i 2016 og er mye med ute hos kundene, men tar seg også av kontorarbeidet.
70-tallet – byggebransjens tiår
På 70-tallet var det enormt stor aktivitet i byggebransjen. Emil Solbakken så behovet for leverandører av porter, dører og lastesystemer. Dermed ble firmaet startet og han spesialiserte seg også på montering, i tillegg til salg. I startfasen var det primært privatmarkedet Solbakken opererte på. – I dag er vi på alle arenaer – både privat, næring og offentlig, sier Kristoffer.

-Vi håper selvfølgelig på ytterligere vekst fremover. Vi ser at det skjer mye på produktutviklingssiden – spesielt elektronikken på styringsverktøyene. Slik markedet ser ut i dag håper vi å vokse, både i antall ansatte og omsetning, sier Kristoffer. Målet er at vi kan ha mellom 4 og 6 ansatte.
Planen er at jeg skal ta over mer av kontordriften, sier Kristoffer. – For meg er det viktig å lære og bli kjent med alle arbeidsprosessene som foregår ute hos kundene. Derfor har jeg så langt valgt å være mye ute der jobbene utføres, avslutter Kristoffer.
